During the Tigers’ surprising victory over the Swans on Sunday, Baker, while running with the flight of the ball, jumped into the air and executed a heavy bump on Sydney’s Lewis Melican.

Swans players immediately confronted Baker following the incident, which was deemed to be careless conduct with medium impact and high contact.

A factor in Baker’s favor was that Melican did not sustain serious injury from the collision, as he was able to take his free kick.

The tribunal will convene on Tuesday evening as Richmond seeks to have the suspension overturned, allowing Baker to participate in their upcoming match against St Kilda at Norwood Oval on Sunday.

Richmond will find themselves without the services of star forward Tom Lynch, who sustained a hamstring injury, and fellow tall player Noah Balta, who is sidelined due to a knee injury, both occurring during their recent match against Sydney.

On the other hand, St Kilda has opted to accept a one-game ban for Marcus Windhager, a young player, following his high bump on Essendon’s Sam Durham. The collision occurred during the second quarter of Essendon’s close victory at Marvel Stadium on Saturday. The match review officer evaluated the incident, grading it as careless with medium impact and high contact, resulting in Windhager’s suspension.
